Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Level40.gg ("Level40," "we," "us," "our") is a cooperative gaming discovery and squad-coordination platform operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME — fill in], based in the Czech Republic. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of level40.gg (the "Service").

By creating an account, connecting a third-party platform (such as Steam or Discord), or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account on Level40.gg. If the law of your country of residence requires a higher minimum age for consent to data processing, that higher age applies to you. If you are between 16 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.

Some content referenced or linked from Level40.gg — including content from the affiliated Level 40 Crisis channel — is intended for mature audiences (18+) due to adult humor and language. Where such content is linked or embedded, it is clearly labeled.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
  • You may not create an account using another person's identity, or impersonate any person or entity.
  • You may connect third-party accounts (Steam, Discord, Google, and others we may add) to Level40.gg. Doing so is optional and governed by the permissions you explicitly grant — see our Privacy Notice for details on what data this shares with us.
  • You may delete your account at any time. See our Privacy Notice for what happens to your data when you do.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use automated means (scraping, bots, crawlers) to access, copy, or extract data from the Service without our prior written permission.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including introducing malware or attempting denial-of-service attacks.
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person.
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with any security-related features of the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion.

5. Co-operative game data and the verification system

Level40.gg's core purpose is to provide accurate, structured information about cooperative multiplayer games — including player counts, crossplay compatibility, progression behavior, and similar details.

  • Game data enters our system from public metadata sources (such as RAWG and IGDB) and may initially be shown as unverified or AI-suggested.
  • Co-op-specific facts (crossplay support, progression behavior, session details, and similar) are only presented as confirmed once they have been reviewed and confirmed by a human member of our team, at which point the game is marked human-verified.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of any information on the Service, including human-verified data. Game mechanics, online services, and crossplay support can change after our verification date. Always confirm critical details (such as crossplay compatibility) directly with the game's publisher or platform before purchasing on that basis.
  • If you believe any information on the Service is inaccurate, please contact us using the details in Section 12, and we will review it.

6. Third-party game data, trademarks, and intellectual property

  • Game titles, artwork, screenshots, logos, and trademarks displayed on Level40.gg are the property of their respective developers, publishers, and rights holders. Level40.gg claims no ownership over this content and displays it for identification and informational purposes only.
  • Game metadata is sourced in part from RAWG (rawg.io) and IGDB (igdb.com) under their respective API terms. We attribute these sources as required.
  • The Level40.gg name, logo, design, and original written content (including our co-op ratings system and verification methodology) are the property of [LEGAL ENTITY NAME].

7. User content

If the Service allows you to submit content (such as a squad name, a profile description, or in future, comments or reviews), you retain ownership of that content. By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and process that content as necessary to operate the Service.

You are responsible for any content you submit and confirm it does not infringe on any third party's rights or violate any law.

8. Third-party platform connections

Level40.gg allows you to connect accounts from third-party platforms, including Steam, Discord, and Google, and in the future may support others. When you connect a platform:

  • You authorize us to access the specific data you approve during that platform's own authorization flow (for example, your Steam library, if you choose to share it).
  • We do not control, and are not responsible for, the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party platforms.
  • You can disconnect a connected platform at any time from your account settings, which revokes our access to new data from that platform going forward.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LEVEL40.GG AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (such as a notice on the Service or an email to registered users) before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict of law principles, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence if you are an EU consumer.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 9, 10, and 12) will survive.
